Nigerian independence day tribute

October 1st is independence day in Nigeria. As a person of Nigerian decent I decided to make a graphic to celebrate my heritage, while simultaneously addressing an issue that has long plagued Nigerians who move to foreign countries. Growing up, I constantly encountered people who couldn't pronounce my name correctly and wanted to know what it means. Using the colour scheme of the Nigerian flag(green and white)  I created a graphic that explains how to pronounce my name phonetically, the language it originates from and what it translates to.
